THE HISTORY OF ALPEN OPTICS
The history of ALPEN OPTICS dates back to 1996, when Tim Gardner – an experienced expert in the optics industry – fulfilled his dream by founding the company. His stated goal: to provide high-performance, high-quality optics at an attractive price – thereby giving all hunters and outdoor enthusiasts the opportunity to gaze into the distance under the best possible conditions. At the headquarters in the picturesque city of Rancho Cucamonga in California – surrounded by the breathtaking San Gabriel Mountains – the company has always kept this goal in focus.
In 1997, ALPEN OPTICS launched its first products, marking the start of a huge success story. Thanks to its outstanding binoculars, spotting scopes and riflescopes, the company quickly acquired an excellent reputation and a loyal following from its customers, who benefit from an exceptional customer service – ALPEN OPTICS never loses sight of the needs of its customers, including the after-sales process. And thanks to its staff who are passionate about developing innovative technologies, the company has not only been rewarded with satisfied customers: In just over two decades, ALPEN OPTICS has received a record-breaking seven Outdoor Life Great Buy Awards, an Outdoor Life Editor's Choice Award and a Field & Stream Best of the Best Award.
THE BEGINNING OF A NEW CHAPTER
ALPEN OPTICS closed its doors temporarily at the beginning of 2018 following the retirement of Tim Gardner. However, in April 2018 Bresser USA took over and brought the established brands and designs back to life – much to the delight of the customers. The company continues to be managed in line with the philosophy of its original founder, and remains committed to meeting the highest quality standards.
At the beginning of 2022, the company expanded to the European market with the founding of a subsidiary in the German town of Hilden. Experienced staff from the hunting and outdoor sector, as well as a competent service centre, are always on hand to assist European customers. Orders are shipped from the company’s warehouse in Germany, ensuring flexible and short delivery routes.
The exciting range of new products is especially interesting to hunting enthusiasts. For the first time, ALPEN OPTICS has launched a series of innovative thermal imaging cameras as well as new riflescopes developed specially for hunting. The latter feature a pioneering new coating on the magnification digits. This delivers increased precision and comfort when using the riflescopes during twilight and nighttime hunts.
